Trump-Supporter Logic and Personal Responsability

I just watched a short video of an interview with Trump supporters. It wasn't different from others I've seen, but the simplicity of it made me think there is something missing. Here is what I thought.

I hear the supporter saying these problems are awful, and they need Trump to fix those things. When the woman interviewing them debunks their arguments, they say, "but that doesn't matter". It leaves one wondering "what DOES matter". My sense of what is happening to them is that they are upset, and these "logical" reasons are why they're upset. But that's far from the complete story. What they're leaving out is that they listen to FOX News, and other inflammatory sources, which rile them up over hundreds of fake stories, all the year round. It's 24-7 hate, fear, anger, and emotions which aren't actually tied to reality. They're reacting to these fake conspiracies and peculiar stories about "Haitians eating cats & dogs in Springfield Ohio".

What I want to know is when they intend to take control of themselves, their beliefs, and their news sources. Why are they allowing themselves to be wide-open to all the junk that the manipulators want to throw at them? When are they going to filter out the junk? Where is their Personal Responsibility to be a good citizen instead of a "useful idiot" for grifters like Trump, Alex Jones, Roger Stone, Paul Manefort, and others?
