President Trump can't order governors to utilize the National Guard, but he's trying to push them to do his dirty work. It's reminiscent of Richard Nixon and Governor Rhodes (R-OH) which led up to the Kent State shootings.
His orders to the military are a violation of the Posse Comitatus law and should be enough to impeach and remove him from office. Will Senate Republicans stand up to him or will they roll over and become complicit in his crime(s)?
This is an important moment for America. Many are standing up for their rights in the streets. A few are doing stupid violent things. But, our government has to be responsive to the Constitution and other Laws. Are we going to fail to govern ourselves as a people?
Now is the time for the Republicans to stand up for Democracy.
