Each state governor is going to have a plan for their state, but there is still a role for the federal government which is easily overlooked. I know I did. It's that as people go back to work and go back to buying things, there are many people who have been on the front lines fighting to save lives and do the essential work during the virus. They've been through it the way soldiers go through war. The stress is damaging and they need a break.
I suggest the federal government consider a special plan for those workers. Give them time off from work and pay them to stay home and recover.
Other workers will be going back to their jobs and can take up the slack. Other workers have been away from the stress of work and the virus. They can be the reservists who come in to give our front-line workers a break.
It's not easy to say how much time these stressed workers may need, but one week would be the minimum I suggest. Do it for them and their families. Do it for America. We need our first responders and medical people to be fresh and capable, not stressed to the breaking point.
