Green Energy vs Fossil Fuels

Here is an update on the state of things.

It appears that oil and coal are on the way out. If there are no companies making coal-powered electricity, then the remaining existing plants will simply get old and become worn-out or economically non-viable. They'll be shut down.

It appears also that as battery technologies improve, there will be no reason for electric companies to not use sunlight and wind (or other green renewable energy sources) to generate electricity and to store it in batteries for use during the day. At first it will be to replace the current peaking power plants.

How Far Will Trump Go to Win ?

Candidate Donald Trump has asked for and received foreign help. He has
gotten help from the FBI director to harm his opponent, he has received
help from Republican governors who have inhibited the vote of his
opposition, he has said recently that he wouldn't worry about "blue
state" deaths due to the pandemic, and he has sicced his hounds on
Michigan and Oregon. I have little doubt he will continue that kind of
aggression where he believes it may work.

Will he receive help from abroad this campaign season? We don't know for
certain, but after his disastrous 2016 debate performances and
horrendous Party convention, he showed he would do anything and this
year's Republican Convention was pretty bad and the debates are going to
begin soon.

I have great doubts we could ever trust him to behave lawfully,
ethically, morally, or decently. Thus, I would warn one and all that he
may again resort to violence, perhaps even directly against our
presidential candidate. He might even seek to do that before the debates
to avoid a disastrous defeat. This is not only "the silly season", it is
a dangerous time and we must not minimize this.
